President Trump's recently released FY 2020 budget proposal is a roadmap that would take us backwards, increasing poverty, threatening economic security, and taking away health care from older adults and their families. 

By calling for block grants, caps and cuts to Medicaid on top of cuts to Medicare, Supplemental Security Income, and other critical programs, this proposal would make it harder for older adults to see their doctors, pay rent, put food on the table, and meet their basic needs. By seeking to make the 2017 tax cuts for the wealthiest permanent, the President's budget would worsen inequality, increase disparities, and make life more difficult for poor seniors and their families. 

A budget is a statement of values, and this proposal shows the misplaced priorities of this Administration. 

Working together, we will fight back against these harmful proposals, whether they are in the budget, legislation, or proposed regulations, and ensure justice for all of us as we age.
