Justice in Aging is pleased to announce that Governor Gavin Newsom has appointed Denny Chan, Justice in Aging’s Managing Director of Equity Advocacy, to serve on California’s Civil Rights Council. Denny’s work at Justice in Aging focuses on ensuring that our advocacy is centered on advancing equitable outcomes for low-income older adults who have experienced structural discrimination. His deep knowledge of how older adults from diverse communities experience critical public benefits systems will help the Council focus its work on the rights of older Californians, and be a huge asset to the Councils’ overall work of writing regulations to implement California’s civil rights laws and conducting inquiries on civil rights issues.

Please join us in congratulating Denny on this important appointment.
